I had the same problem as a previous reviewer. After printing about 500 pages, the printer locked up with a region error code. The prints were fine and no 'low toner' indication was given, as had a previous cartridge. The Lexmark tech offered to verify the region code on the cartridge, but seemed like a waste of time as it was obviously North America and was working fine prior to the problem. This feature makes an already expensive cartridge all the more expensive. I will try one more cartridge and if that fails get rid of the printer.

Bought the "refurb" from Inkers. Mistake. Doesn't work at all. Maybe instead of buying lexmark's &*#(@! cartridge, I'll find a printer whose manufacturer doesn't lock out other toner cartridges (if one exists these days...).

I have been through my fair share of printers... inexpensive ones anyway. And after owning a Brother HL, I switched to the Lexmark E120 because of the price and speed of print jobs. This printer is great for our small office and I have it set up so that all of the faxes my husband receives via his PC spool right to this printer. The printer is fast and the copies are nice and clear. We have had no problems with the printer with the exception of toner cartridges. The last ones I ordered came in sealed plastic bags and when you opened the bags, you had toner EVERYWHERE!! I recommend buying non-refurbished toner cartridges unless you know of a better place to get them than where I got my last ones. I give this printer a 5 star rating because it is inexpensive compared to most laser printers, it is fast, and my husband can use it with no "tech support" from me. Great little printer and we use it alot!

after much research we finally decided on the Epson Stylus NX215 color all in one printer to replace the older Epson printer that performed well in the past.

I have owned and used an HP Deskjet F4280 which is a modestly priced all-in-one similar to this Epson printer. I received the Epson for free when I bought my MacBook Pro, so I plugged 'er in and put it to the test. The installation and set-up was easy, with clear directions and I had no problems getting it running.

The printer itself is more aesthetically pleasing than the HP. I do like the sleek, black design.

I am a graduate student who has to print hundreds of pages of reading weekly, so my needs are basically something that prints text with a readable quality at a fast pace. I was intrigued by the ''32 ppm'' claim on the box. There were a lot of options to customize the print job, seemingly many more than with the HP. I do like that each ink cartridge is separate; that seems economical.

Comparing the standard ''text'' printing option to the HP, they seemed about the same in terms of quality. They also printed at the same speed, much, much slower than 32ppm. I'd estimate that standard printing speed is around 7 seconds per page.

However, when I printed in "Draft" mode, which is a faster, ink-conserving mode more appropriate for my needs, the quality was abysmal. There were several letters that hadn't printed completely and the text was extremely light. It was readable, but barely. I believe this would be an impediment to my weekly reading.

"Draft mode" on the HP is near perfect quality with just slightly lighter ink. You wouldn't even guess it was printed as a draft, and it's just as fast as the Epson.

Also, the Epson was very loud in any mode. I kept jumping every time it jolted to life.

For someone who just needs a cheap first printer, this is a good one. I would not recommend it for students who need to print vast amounts of text in a short amount of time, but for an undergrad or basic home printer it would be okay.

In summary,

+color cartridges are separate, which is pretty economical

-loud, disruptive noises
-terrible draft quality

I did not even bother evaluating the photo print or scanner quality because this printer does not fit my needs in basic text printing. I think it could be very good for someone on a tight budget. I am giving this away to Goodwill as I have no doubt it will be useful to someone.

This printer is so slow and noisy. Plus it doesn't scan or print pictures very well. I have gone back to a Lexmark brand.
I wouldn't recommend buying this.

I love these bags. I've been using them to sort and store my son's clothing. My husband uses them while traveling for work. I agree that they don't work as well after an average of 5-7 uses. But for the price, you can't beat them.
